Bespoke Reading Glasses

With our Bespoke collection, you choose your frame and reading strength before the glasses are made up for you. Your chosen frame is then professionally glazed at a UK optical laboratory with CR39 lenses in your selected reading strength.

Because these glasses are glazed after you place your order, please allow 10–14 working days for despatch.

Monocles

Our monocles are also glazed to order at a UK optical laboratory. Each is fitted with a CR39 lens in your chosen reading strength, so please allow 10–14 working days for despatch.

What is CR39?

CR39 is a lightweight optical plastic widely used for spectacle lenses. We use CR39 as the standard lens material for our UK-glazed reading glasses and monocles.

Our FlexiSpex rimless reading glasses are also available with Trivex MAR lenses as an alternative to standard CR39.

About Our Reading Lenses

Most of the glasses we sell are designed for straightforward reading and close work and are available in a choice of standard reading strengths. The way the lenses are supplied differs depending on whether you choose from our Ready-to-Wear or Bespoke collection.

Ready-to-Wear Reading Glasses

Most of our Ready-to-Wear glasses have their lenses fitted during manufacture and are supplied in a choice of standard reading strengths.

A small number of styles are professionally glazed with CR39 lenses at a UK optical laboratory and held in stock in a choice of reading strengths. In either case, the finished glasses are normally ready for despatch.
