How We Measure Our Reading Glasses

Buying glasses online can make it difficult to judge size, so wherever possible we include a couple of simple measurements to help you compare different frames.

Most ready-made reading glasses are designed to suit an average adult fit. The dimensions shown on our product pages are approximate measurements taken by us and are intended as a practical guide rather than precise technical specifications.

Frame Width

Frame width is measured from the inside of one temple to the inside of the other.

Frame Height

Frame height is measured at the deepest point of the frame, from top to bottom, including the frame itself.

The diagram below shows where these measurements are taken.

These measurements are useful for comparing one frame with another, although small variations may occur.

If you are unsure whether a particular frame is likely to suit you, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.
